Guitar hero stopped being about rocking out with fisher price guitars and became squeezing dollar signs out of turds when Harmonix left.
I was completely done with it when 3 had a Rage Against the Machine song open with Axe advertisements.
Rock Band is insanely better than Guitar Hero in every way, and with every single thing they do.
I'm kind of tired of all of these rhythm games but everyone else is still crazy about them so I have the first Rock Band. I really like how it has cross compatibility with its songs so I don't have to hear people bitch about how my air band game is too outdated for them to enjoy.[/QUOTE]
Yeah, I like that about rock band and rock band 2 - it's somewhat annoying that you can't play with people using the other version, though. If you're interested, you can export all
BUT 3 (more on that in a second) of the songs from rock band to the hard drive for use in rock band 2. It's pretty nice to do that to gain access to the songs on rock band 2, but it comes with a couple of annoyances:
1 - It costs something like 5 bucks to do it. There's an argument there over whether that's a good deal compared to the individual download price per song or whether it's a ripoff because you've already purchased the songs by buying the game that I'm not getting into right now. But the option is there if you want it.
2 - The more annoying of the two, in my opinion. When you export, you export all but 3 of the songs. Which songs?
Black Sabbath - Paranoid (Song in-game was a cover, though)
Iron Maiden - Run To The Hills (This one isn't as bad as the others, since the original song was a cover - albeit a fairly good cover - and up for download now is the
original song, using the master track from the real band.)
Metallica - Enter Sandman (This one pisses me off the most; it WAS the master track, and now with guitar hero: Metallica, it's unlikely we'll see anything more from them on rock band)
