After a few years of looking, I finally got a permanent teaching position (permanent sub) in one of my local schools. Quite happy - regular hours, decent pay, some benefits.
Interestingly enough, the offer came just four days after I quit my retail job to focus on my sub work - mostly due to my health issues.
