I know, I know "Get a blog" but just allow me to shove pictures in your faces for a moment. If any mod thinks its not worthy of its own thread they may merge it with what ever thread they feel best suits the topic.

Anyways, I think most of you have seen picture of my baby boy by now and know he has a cleft lip and palate. You may also have known that he was going to be getting surgery to get it fixed.

Well, on September 18th that happened! He now has a complete lip!

Here a pic from 20 minutes before the surgery.



And her he is afterwards!





And as of today so you can all see how great it's healing.



I just thought some of you may like to see the difference.

I saw your posts on FB and wasn't sure if this was what you were talking about. He looks great! Glad he is healing up so well. Did they fix his palate, too, or will he need more surgery?

The palate will be fixed at one year...just when he's old enough to TELL me how unhappy he is.

That's awesome! I'm glad he's doing well, looks like you had a good surgeon.

He looks good, all things considering. Is he going to have a noticeable scar from this when he grows older?

I have two students who had the same surgery done, it heals pretty well, and later on looks more like some sporting scar, and at the twenty, almost fades.

Watch out for this 'un when he grows up... Those eyes could melt titanium. Oh, and the last picture? To my eyes it almost look like he's showing off his scar. "Yeah, I got into a bitching fight the other day... Had this then. You should've seen the other baby. I really f***ed him up."

Also, can I still refer to him as Baby Cthulhu or Predator Jr? I never got an answer to that.

I just realized he was wearing stiff sleeves to keep him from touching his face! Poor little guy, it's like wearing a cone for a dog.

He looks great! (and the wound does too, as far as my VERY limited knowledge on surgery allows me to say)

I tell you, with those eyes and a cool scar, he'll have all the girls he wants!

Looks great. A friend of mine has one of those scars, but it mostly looks like he was in a bitchin dirtbike wreck or something.

Everyone keeps telling me he has amazing eyes and such long eyelashes...even complete strangers. If I have him dressed in any kind of gender neutral clothing they think he's a girl, actually.

He hated having his arm forced out straight for the week after surgery. He loved sucking on his hands and sleeps with his arms thrown upabove his head so he wasn't content at all.

Until Shego takes on a ward to train to lead all of them I nominate my son as a commander. He is quite bossy.

That and he has red hair and, as we all know, red heads are evil.
