Pre-emptive TLDR; real life drama threatens to rip apart a huge part of my social life, so I might make up for it by posting in here more often. Nice to meet you all!

Now, if you want the FULL story, keep reading!

I'm an anime fan, and the University I used to attend has a great anime club, where I've made most of the good friends I have right now. We meet every week, and really, we just have anime run in the background while we talk about whatever else. We've been running for over 10 years, and we even host a free anime convention every year that gets about 3000 attendees. It's a blast.

Until last Friday. We decided to hold a fancy dress masquerade, and were collecting donations to benefit Child's Play. I won't tell the full story here, but this coincided with a power struggle among our elected officers, which culminated in an arrest, and a majority of the club wanting to vote out our entire board. They do not want this, and seems they are more likely to kill this club than leave.

Unfortunately, as I said, most of my friend's I see through anime club. It's one of the few things I do in a week. Frankly, at this point, I wouldn't mind it being over, just to end all this senseless drama. Already this week's meeting was canceled, because the officers fear that the members will revolt.

So I thought, if I'm not doing anime club, maybe I'll come here more often till I find another IRL social group. I've lurked since the Image forums, though I never posted till we got here, and even then, only a few times. It's weird, I feel like I know a lot of you, but you guys don't know me. I'll try to fix that. Nice to meet you all!

So the club was founded on a university? most university has a document or "constitution" of the club and rules.

Of course you can do what we do in Dallas, split into TWO clubs :)

does your anime club have a constitution?
We do, but at this point, it seems that the University is fed up with the bullshit enough that they're doing everything in their power to end us.

Side note, my brother just looked over my shoulder and cursed me for posting here. He sucks Kurtz's penis lol

I boggled at this. Why would Kurtz's fans dislike us?
cause we didn't crash and burn when Halfpixle died?

I don't know really.
Yeah but I thought only Kurtz disliked our survival, I thought he was the only one who took it personally.

I had no idea we were on anyone else's radar.

Which anime con? I'm in a club that just recently hosted its first free University con, called Kami-Con, which got about 460 attendees.

Howdy.

Glad you made it through our apparently tight security.

I'll wait before the entire drama is over before I even think about pinpointing where the drama is; there's enough con drama in the area without having this become more public than it is.

Of note and lawls: Our university gave us appx $2000 to run this charity event. We collected....

*drumrolls*

Just over $400 -_-

More reason why we're on the university's shit list now.
