My dad wants me to do a test he found online about possible malware issues starting March 8. Snopes had literally nothing on this and this sounds suspiciously like the type of scam used to trick you into downloading malware. I can't seem to find anything but the article my dad linked me to and this one to back it up. Help?

I'm at work, so I can't help you. I can't venture to the shadier portions of the internet here.

Ignore it, unless you don't have a working up-to-date antivirus. If you don't, then ignore it anyway, but get a free antivirus and run it just in case. AVG is ok for that. Microsoft also has a good free one.
If you or your friends lose connectivity at any time, use 8.8.8.8 as your DNS and run a virus scan.
It's not a big deal and won't affect the computer literate, and those it does affect will be easy to fix.
