Those who posted bail for Julian Assange are surprised to have to actually pay it when Julian flees prosecution.

They sound like whiny kids. "Well yes, we promised to deliver either Julian or the money, but we didn't think we'd actually have to do it..."
But, you know, it's a pretty cheap way to keep him out of prison, if you believe that his political asylum in the Ecuador embassy in the middle of london doesn't constitute a sort of prison. And they can visit him whenever they want, because they will always know exactly where he is.
I'm sure he appreciates their sacrifice.
