But, you know, it's a pretty cheap way to keep him out of prison, if you believe that his political asylum in the Ecuador embassy in the middle of london doesn't constitute a sort of prison. And they can visit him whenever they want, because they will always know exactly where he is.
I doubt it. I think that England/the USA will just offer a giant "aid" package to Ecuador like Sweden offered to another country to get the Pirate Bay founder, then Ecuador will just dump Assange on the front steps (whether he deserves it or not).
