Watched this movie last night..... holy shit did it keep me on the edge of my seat for half the movie. The ending is obviously as predictable as it comes but the subtle ways the audience is enthralled by Butler's charm during the entire movie really makes you love/hate his character.

The best part of the movie?
"I'm a judge, I can do what I want".
:hail:

The best quote?
"I bet you take it up the ass."
:D

Charlie Don't Surf

The Lovely Boehner

So was the gay joke one of the subtle ways you loved the character or hated the character

Sorry but I won't be using a massive thread to discuss every movie out there and let the loudest voice get the most replies. Concept is fail. :(

And my quote has nothing to be with being gay or not as it's quote has nothing to do with homosexuality. Seeing the movie provides enlightenment.

I don't see a chain of events where I see this movie, so enlighten me

Ugh. I saw the trailer for this movie and was immediately put off. To me it looks like one of those Death Wish esque thrillers that take advantage of people's grievances with "the system" and glorify vigilante justice and taking the law into one's own hands. Yes, the guy getting his revenge is supposed to be the "bad guy" and they are cushioning things by having the guy target everyone's families and stuff, but I have the feeling (and reviews I read agree), that people will be cheering for the psycho getting his revenge. Not to mention that according to several reviews, there's even a part where the hero says "Fuck his civil rights!" and we're supposed to consider that his awesome moment.

This review sums it up quite nicely:

Eh. There have been worse movies. I don't like how, as you mentioned, the movie promoted "Guilty until proven innocent" rather than "innocent until proven guilty", but... some people need to get their rage against the machine out somehow.

Action scenes were cool. I have one question though...

How did no one notice someone tunneling into prison? Seems like one of the first things they'd check when they're throwing someone into a cell, if there's a secret tunnel leading out of it first.
