It's both interesting and...incredibly confusing...to watch these videos. Linkara's history of the show is very detailed, but he goes over so many ridiculous concepts and names so quickly that it almost makes my head spin.

Still, it's interesting. I've always had something of a passing interest in the Power Rangers mythos, even though I've probably seen only about 20% of it and know very little of it, aside from mostly the first few seasons and catching bits and pieces of others.

I've been watching this and enjoying it quite a bit, even though Power Rangers was a just a hair past my time. My youngest sister watched it, as did some kids my other sisters baby-sat for, so I'm fairly familiar with Mighty Morphin, but after that I have no clue. I'm really impressed with the apparent fairness of Linkara's coverage. He gives the show credit where it deserves it, but also doesn't pull his punches when it comes to criticism of the show's many stupid points.

I'm eagerly awaiting the next installment.

On a semi-related note, Jew Wario and Pyschotaku did a cross-over two-part history of the Super Sentai series in Japan (Pt1, Pt2), and it was really disappointing. They hardly covered anything about the series, and even after watching it I have no idea what a "sentai" is, or why these shows were important culturally. They didn't really linger on any important points, it was just rapid fire factoids that would have been better as a spreadsheet than a video.
