There's a certain kind of movie that takes me to a place that is....well its hard for me to leave. When I get there I loose myself, and then when the movie is over I wake back up and look around me and a part of me wants to cry. This isn't to say I don't love these movies, I do. There incredible. Let me list off some of them in case you don't know what I am talking about:

Mirror Mask
any Miyazaki film, particularly Naussica
Avatar (to a degree, it kind of sucked)
Labyrinth
Legend (those are a little old though)
....

I can't think of any more at the moment, but I know there are some. Mirror Mask is probably #1 on my list. Can yall think of other ones?

Stardust
Matrix
The Descent (just watching the film makes you claustrophobic)
Fear and Loathing (Makes me feel like I'm high)

I don't think I have had that "damn, real life sucks, why can't it be magical" feeling after a movie since I was a teenager.

Still love this kind of movie thought. The Dark Crystal is one of my favorites.

Its not a 'real life sucks' thing, its that you get so drawn into that world that when you finish the movie that its hard to accept that that world can never be, and never was. Its like this dream I had once of a sister that I never had. I never really wanted a sister, but that dream, it gave me something that I never had and never could, and when I lost it, I dunno it was sad.

What about that Dr. Parnassus movie? I haven't seen it yet, but seems it would be in the same group.
Also possibly The Last Unicorn, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, , Twice Upon a Time, The Fantastic Planet, Jumanji, The Neverending Story, The Princess Bride, and probably another half dozen I can't remember right now.
