Man Emerges from Y2K Bunker 13 Years Later

There's a short audio piece on the story, as well. Some of the guy's quotes are hilarious and some are heartbreaking. He asks what happened to all the music and book stores and whether acid rain just sort of went away. He also can't believe Friends ended and that Joey got his own spin-off when everybody liked Chandler.

Near the end, he asks if it's okay if he has a smoke break and is told he'll have to do it outside. I've enjoyed a non-smoking indoor environment for so long that I've almost forgotten how much I hated going into most places reeking of smoke. No offence to the smokers on the forum, but I'm honestly glad that's one thing that's changed.

Still, this is almost too surreal to be true. I really want to learn more about this guy.

Yeah, I just double checked because I was so skeptical. I forgot that This or That is a satire radio show. They're like a Canadian version of The Onion. They did a story earlier this year that I fell, too, but I don't remember what it was.

So no, this is not real. My bad. Still funny to consider, though.

They had a great one the other week about a small american city renaming themselves Banf Alberta Canada to get all the tourists who fly there by mistake.

Sort of like the inevitable 2 or 3 people each year that come from Europe to Sydney, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada. And are shocked to find a run down snow covered dump instead of smiling bikini wearing Australians.
