Ok so if you guys haven't seen all the #mariomarathon tweets on Twitter you need to check out

http://www.mariomarathon.com/

Basically they have been playing Mario games for 62 hours now trying to raise money for Child's Play so yeah if you can spare the cash then you should donate, it is a great cause. All I could give was $5 but hey every bit helps.

If you don't know about Child's Play it is a charity that was set up by Penny Arcade to raise money to get Video Games, Toys, and Movies to sick kids in childrens hospitals so their stay there is a little more enjoyable.

It's a marathon, so I doubt it.

Also if you check out the game list it's one right after the other.

edit: However it does look like they're swapping players, so maybe the one who takes a break is napping or something.

From what I've been told, they take turns and sleep that way.

I've been up 62 hours, and it's not something I'd do again.

No kidding, when I was diagnosed with insomnia, I was living on 72hr schedules. I'd be up for around 70hrs and then sleep for 14. Went on for 2years.

I can imagine how well they do on the later hours of their shift heh.

Yeah, I did maybe 50-ish hours once and I felt like death.

The best part was the hallucinations after the first 40hrs. I once watched a pile of laundry lift itself a few inches off the ground, and walk itself from one end of the hallway, to the other, then plop down and settle in.

Did you have any paranoia? I had some sleep problems a while back, I started thinking my family was plotting to kill me. I'm not really sure what else, actually. The problem wasn't that I couldn't sleep, it's that I wasn't getting rest even though I was unconscious (still don't know what the problem is, at least I've got a band-aid on the leak in the dam). Went on for years, and there was a long period where my memories aren't clear on the line between reality and delusion.

They have one more star till they finish Super Mario Galaxy.

Not sure if the numbers are just goals or needed to keep going but either way, need more donations folks!

Reality and delusion were in high form. I came to the conclusion that things like eating and breathing weren't required activities and we only did it because we thought we had to. That's when my friends threated to put me to sleep.

Last time I went more than 24 hours was when there was a shooting here and all of us were busy up to our gills assisting major crimes do their job. I think I finally plopped down for 12+ hours of going non-stop for 36 or so. Those days suck ass.

The absolute FUCKING worst time was when this fucking shit went down.

This, ladies and gentlemen, was madness. This asshole began his career and had tons of friends in the town I am currently in. When this manhunt was on we had to raid any place that we had any suspicion of him being. By the end I was so exhausted that I started hallucinating spiders in my peripheral vision everywhere I was.

Sleep deprivation sucks.

I'm fairly certain I donated to these guys last year, as well as the Desert Bus one too, though specifically them because they're from Victoria. I'll be doing so again this time around as well.

And sleep deprivation is both awful and awesome.

I wish I had money to donate. It's so awesome that they've doubled what they got last time. I thought it was hilarious that they 'do the Mario' after every thousand.

Maybe I'll do some fan art.

- Philosopher B., who sent in fan art last time.
