Mass media want you to take your tweets and shove them

Most of the news outlets want you to follow them on Twitter. Some of them will even air what you say. But a large segment of those in the news want you and your tweets to go smurf yourself.
I am not interested in the take of @stinky on the Fort Hood shootings or any other current events. I am watching CNN because I expect them to gather the news, not act as a clearinghouse for any bonehead with a computer, a cable modem and a half-baked opinion.
Other times a celebutard with a computer does more damage than good when they try to inject themselves into a story that doesn't involve them. Holly, please. You're not helping.

I agree and think that reading viewer's Tweets and emails is lazy reporting and just another attempt to dumb down the news and fill time with useless shit.

I also agree with this. I could care not care less about what the randoms are tweeting on this. If I wanted to see that, i would actually look at the tweets to see these people's opinions.

DOOM CARES NOT FOR YOUR TWEETS

Doom does care for substantial, hard hitting, fair and balanced news coverage though. ESPECIALLY WHEN IT REPORTS THE DEMISE OF REED RICHARDS!

How is showing tweets any different than showing polls, though? Except it's a bit deeper reporting on "the people's opinions". It's pretty much the same purpose. I'm not saying it's not lazy, but I don't see how it's "dumber" than a poll.

Knowing what many people think > knowing what some random dumbass thinks.

It may be lazy to show the opinions of those who are dumb as a post, but it's no dumber than a lazy opinion poll.

I know that, smart guy. Usually they show 3-5, right? I will still take a poll over 3-5 random opinions.
