According to the dev I just spoke with, XF should support a large number of embedded videos, not just YouTube. YouTube is standard, but now we have the following:

  1. BET
  2. BlogDumpsVideo
  3. BlogTV
  4. Bungie.net
  5. CNN iReport
  6. Clipfish.de
  7. Clipmoon
  8. Clipshack
  9. Clipsyndicate
  10. College Humor
  11. Comedy Central
  12. Crackle
  13. DailyMotion
  14. Espn
  15. Facebook
  16. Funnyordie.com
  17. G4tv
  18. Gametrailers
  19. Goear
  20. Google Video
  21. IGN
  22. Izlesene.com
  23. JibJab
  24. Joystiq
  25. LiveLeak
  26. MaYoMo
  27. Mail.ru
  28. MarketNewsVideo
  29. Mefeedia
  30. MegaVideo
  31. Metacafe
  32. Mevio
  33. Mpora
  34. MySpace
  35. MyVideo.de
  36. Novamov
  37. NyTimes
  38. PBS
  39. Rambler.ru
  40. Reuters
  41. Rutube
  42. SchoolTube
  43. Sevenload
  44. Stagevu
  45. Stream.cz
  46. TNT
  47. Tangle.com
  48. TinyPic.com
  49. Trophy-clips.com
  50. Trtube
  51. Twitvid
  52. USteam.tv
  53. VH1
  54. Veoh
  55. Vimeo
  56. Worldstarhiphop.com
  57. XFire
  58. Yahoo
  59. Youku
  60. Youtube
  61. justin.tv
Now, Some of these I have no idea what they are or why we'd need them. But there are some good ones in there. According to the instructions:

The user does not have to use any media tags at all. Just enter the link of the video sharing site inside a post and the media player will auto embed into the post.
Does it work? Will it actually do as planned? We shall see! And you shall help me!

Post any and all videos you want. Let's hammer test this bitch!

I can't get it to accept a video from Gametrailers.

Looks good to me. You put in the whole URL.

Still won't let me put in the Trine 2 trailer:
EDIT: Trying to put the video in by clicking the media button and entering the URL there doesn't work. Just putting the link in the text auto-converts it to video. I don't like this, as sometimes it's better to just have the link than embed.

If you just want the hyperlink can't you wrap it in
Code:
[url][/url]
tags?

Well, the last time we had auto-parsing video, it didn't matter if you had URL tags around it. Let's see:

X's Streaming Adventures in Minecraft

EDIT: Looks like Dave turned off the plug-in, so I don't know if it's possible to have a link to a video that doesn't auto-embed.

Aaaaand it's off again. Seems that it's causing some threads to open in blank pages. Back to the dev.
