Probably most well known as Omar on The Wire, but the man has popped up in damn near everything. Sad, sad, sad…

I thought, "This guy doesn't look that familiar."
So I took a look through the stuff he's done.
...and discovered I haven't seen any of the things he's been in.
Welp, now I know why his name/face are not familiar.

right but we’ve well established that’s more a *you* problem right?

I had sort of the opposite issue. I didn't recognize the name, and I've never watched The Wire, but once I saw his face, it was "Oh Hey, It's That Guy!" moment.

Shame, too. He's been in so much, but never really became a household name.

I wasn't complaining. I just saw the huge body of work and thought, "I have to have seen something he's been in, right?" NOPE.

I'm trying to imagine a world where not watching Community is more worthy of shaming than not watching The Wire, and I can't do it.

How about not watching either? :hide:

Sure, there are lots of reasons not to watch tv shows, especially multi-season ones that demand hours and hours of time and attention. I don't think there's a lot of value in shaming peoples' hobbies in general, regardless of what they are.

That said, if you're going to give someone shit for not watching a show for Michael K Williams' contributions....Community ain't it.

I have no idea who he is, either. But I wasn't going to say anything until Pat started getting crap for it.

I've watched the first... 8? 10? Episodes of Community. Yeah, yeah, I know, I've been told it gets better and really finds its stride in season 2 or whatever... But the fact is, I've got more interesting stuff to watch than a mediocre sitcom that gets good "eventually".
It's in the "continue watching when there's nothing else on" pile.

I haven't seen The Wire. I haven't seen Community. I don't watch a lot of serial TV.

I vaguely recognized his face, so these are the things I've seen him in, according to IMDB:
Assassin's Creed, Ghostbusters (la femme version), Robocop (the 2014 reboot), The Road, and The Incredible Hulk (bit part). Castigate me as you will ;)

TBF, the only thing I *know* I've seen him in was the Community episode Basic Lupine Urology.
