Misfits

Not the band, no, I'm talking about the amazing British drama/action/comedy show.

Basically its about a bunch of kids on community service that get super powers (along with a bunch of other folks) and what they do. Its one of the most imaginative concepts of super powers I have ever seen, with powers such as:

-The ability to duplicate yourself, except the duplicate is your Id/conscience/self loathing
-The ability to be a rocket scientist. It doesn't make you smart. Just makes you an amazing rocket scientist.
-The ability to manipulate milk (actually all dairy products)
-The ability to put a number on peoples heads that shows how many times they have had sex.

It's at times a fascinating and hilarious show. Possibly the best version of a super heroes show I have ever seen.

As far as I can tell it only plays on Hulu/Hulu plus. There are 4 seasons so far. Anyone watch this amazing show?

I liked the first two seasons quite a bit...the third season was a little bit less so, though I really liked Rudy. I haven't seen the 4th season yet but the cast is almost entirely switched over from the originals, is it not?

I mentioned this in the tv thread awhile ago and no one bit but I really enjoy misfits. And I'll second liking season 1-2, more than 3. I didnt care for Rudy at first but now in the 4th season I've grown to like him.

And yes. The majority of the remaining cast left for season 4 with only Curtis, Rudy and Seth returning. I did really like season 4, though the bulk is spent establishing the new characters.

I tried the show, making it through the first season. It was okay, but it just didn't grab me enough to keep going.

I found the show to be mean-spirited and more than a little depressing. Not my style at all, though the writing can be witty.

I liked the originality and absurdity of the whole show. But I felt there was a lack of story progression (especially because of changing the cast) which made season 3 and beyond less appealing to watch. The idea is awesome, but it probably isn't suitable for a long running show.

Half way through s4 it's no longer almost...

I got to S03e01 and am having trouble going further. Nathan was like the only character I liked, giant prick that he was. "Vegas, Baby!", the pre-season 3 special was like their handing me the show's pinkslip too.

Fuck Rudy. :fu:

Season 3 is good and worth watching imho. Season 4 is pretty hard to watch (just too much of the cast gets replaced.)

The word you're looking for is All.

Fuck Rudy. :fu:

I like Rudy well enough (he grows on you), but he's no Nathan...

I'm about halfway through season 2 and made the mistake of getting spoiled on upcoming events, and knowing that a couple of the plot threats I was looking forward too are going to literally get killed off has been a serious blow to my enthusiasm for the show.

A good British drama you say? Who else can't wait for the terrible American version that'll come out?

An american version has been in the planning stages since as far back as 2011. Not sure what is going on with it though.

Every time someone mentions a superhero show named Misfits, I think they're talking about this:

Any other gen-x remember watching this?
