Holy shit, this looks awesome. Like I said in the comments to this vid, I was just thinking the other day that Mortal Kombat could embrace its 2-Dness like Street Fither did.
That seems to be footage for some kind of live action MK. This is for what appears to be a remake of the first game. Or at least some kind of new 2-D game.

Not to shit on your thread on a personal level but how many fucken versions of a game do they need to hash out to milk this franchise till it is dried? What is this? The 9th? Or 10th version now? How are all these people still alive? I guess I'll play this one night, one of my tard buddies is due to buy this shit.

lol, y'know... he has a point. For a supposedly "Mortal" tournament, lots of survivors are still around.

I mean, every new version seems to be like a love letter to the original two games. This same Tourney is going on, same old bullshit, insert 2-3 new characters, same stages. At least Street Fighter makes you wait almost a decade for a new version. Once again, I don't wanna shit on your thread but fuck... really? another Mortal Combat? This is worse than Hulk movie remakes.

... did you just spell Kombat with a C?
You, sir, have no more say in this thread. Good day.
I SAID GOOD DAY!

It's no different than the Street Fighter. They've had a LOT more games than just four. And that's pretty much the same game.

I think the difference is Street Fighter is a good game.

*shrug* I've always been more of an Mortal Kombat fan than Street Fighter. "Good" game is subjective.

I don't see how making a game, waiting 10 years, re releasing that same game, waiting ten years and re-releasing it again is somehow more noble than Making a game, making failed sequel after failed sequel after failed sequel, then re-releasing that game. Its good business, but neither are very inspiring business models.
I am not a fan of fighting games. The last 3D one I liked was Primal Instinct for the PSone, and I only ever actually played the demo so that might have actually sucked hardcore. The last one I played fully was MK2 for the Genesis so I'm out of the loop. That being said, I am actually kind of excited for this.
I enjoy Mortal Kombat more than Street Fighter, but Street Fighter is the "better" game in terms of mechanics, strategy, versatility and skill required to play. Therefore it has the longer lifespan and why the series has survived over Mortal Kombat on a successful level. Good is not quite subjective. Fun is.
