The Munsters reboot is officially dead but will still air on NBC. The $10 million pilot will be re-edited into a one-shot TV movie to air on October 26th. (via THR)

Well, they decided to pass on the series but air the pilot as a movie. If it does well in the ratings (and critically), there's always a chance that they will change their mind and take it to series.

Well, it won't matter much unless you're one of the people they get ratings from, but yeah pretty much. If there was no chance of a series, they probably wouldn't be airing it at all.

No, it's likely they are airing it so they could get SOMETHING out of it. 10 million dollars is an astronomical amount of money for a show... some entire seasons don't hit that. If they were going to bring it to TV, they'd have to cut out a lot of fat.
