I'm back, baby.

Ask me some good questions, on the off-chance that there's something about me that you don't know yet.

Hell no. But I'm good at ice-skating.

What do you think was the most important day of your life, thus far?

#5

Gusto

Gusto

What do you think was the most important day of your life, thus far?
After thinking about this for a minute, I'd have to say August 4th 2002. That's the day I started worknig in the customer service industry, which has both shaped my career choices for the past decade and allowed to be a little less shy and less constrained by my social insecurities.

Why are you so down on yourself all the time, when you seem to be quite the social, stable, intelligent and talented individual?

#7

Can you teach me how I, too, can get a date with a cute tattooed girl after like a day of posting about not having a date?

#8

Gusto

Gusto

Why are you so down on yourself all the time, when you seem to be quite the social, stable, intelligent and talented individual?
I have a lot of insecuriteis that I built up from a time in my life where I was not so popular or socially-inclined. As a result, I often think that people are humouring me or fucking with me when they're being genuinely nice and complimentary. And part of it is good ol' fashioned Canadian modesty.[DOUBLEPOST=1358363480][/DOUBLEPOST]
Can you teach me how I, too, can get a date with a cute tattooed girl after like a day of posting about not having a date?
1. Know one of those girls already.
2. Have good reason to think that she'll accept your invitation.
3. Just fuckin' ask.

That's what I did.

Dammit I don't have one or two. My life is a disaster.

How do I switch lives with you? Will we have a hilarious comedy experience where we realise each suffers from our own challenges and have a greater appreciation for each other when we inevitably switch back?

I don't know. I'm sure your life is pretty cool, I could definitely live up the first act of that movie in your place that you apparently live without parents around. But then Act 2 would happen and I'd get lonely and lost in a strange city.

What's one of your TV guilty pleasures?

#12

Gusto

Gusto

What's one of your TV guilty pleasures?
That I intend to keep watching? Castle. It's a goofy-ass show that makes my eyes roll more than not, and there are SOOOO many bad puns, but I just can't resist watching Nathan Fillion having fun.

That I'm gonna stop watching? I recently (like, from November til mid December) watched ALL SEVEN complete seasons of Bones, which I never really liked and only kept watching for Hodgins' occasional hilarity, David Boreanaz, and John Francis Daley. But Temperance is not likeable at all.

Given $1800 and the edict that you can only spend all of it on one or the other of the following, which do you choose: A fun experience that leaves only memories (and what experience would that be?) or things or items that you would enjoy having and using for at least two years (and what would you buy?)

I ould take it and go on vacation somewhere once my contract here is done, if it doesn't get renewed. Due to these and othere restrictions due to my employment/unemployment, I haven't taken a vacation since 2009. And I could really use the opportunity to unwind and fuckin' relax for once. All the better if it's someplace warm and sunny and I can convince a special lady to come with me.[DOUBLEPOST=1358368533][/DOUBLEPOST]Also I want for no physical posessions right now that cost less or equal to $1800.

Did you ever get an important life lesson from an unexpected place?

#16

Gusto

Gusto

Did you ever get an important life lesson from an unexpected place?
I can't remember the exact context but I know that something a gay man said in an episode of Survivor convinced me that I had been close-minded and immature by calling people gay as a pejorative and getting angry when they called me gay as an insult.

That episode of Survivor made me a better, more respectful person.

I can't even parse this.

I don't know. I don't know why anyone should ever want to not fight me.

Dogs, because I allergic and they're kinda big and energetic and always jump all over me and I'm afraid they'll injure or bite me. :(

I've only been to one convert, it was an alexisonfire concert back in 2008 when I went back to college, and the show was incredible! I'd have loved to see them again but that show has apparently sailed.[DOUBLEPOST=1369929568][/DOUBLEPOST]

Roughly as boring as mine, where you're praying for the end of the day but then remember that you still have to do it again tomorrow.

Man I dunno. Anything with the ability to take out my power for more than 24 hours.

I don't really worry about natural disasters from day to day. We're supposed to have thunderstorms all weekend and that would kind of suck but at least it'll be warm and humid, which I like.

First I'd be surprised, since I'm employed on contract which ends in a month. If they're taking me on permanently and sending me to America for some reason, I'd be kind of upset if they sent me to Detroit or something. Or like some little town that I've never heard of or don't know anything about. My first instinct in any situation like that would be to shut myself up in my living quarters and hide until I found a local bar.

My favourite curse word is Shit. It's so sharp and I love dragging it out. Sheeeeeeeeeeit.

Do you mind going to the movies by yourself?

Where do you prefer to sit in the movie theater?

Who is your favorite writer?

Can you paint things from your head or do you need to look at something?

Do you like abstract art or more realistic stuff or even hyper-realistic?

What is your favorite medium?

#56

Gusto

Tell me of a time you threatened violence and had to follow through.
When being bullied in grade school. I was always the skinny nerd kid that kids of middling popularity thought they could pick on to make a name for themselves. The situations would quickly resolve themselves when the kids would corner me at recess to "fight" which in my mind meant "fight" and in theirs meant "shoving match with taunting and generally showing a lot of bravado".

So I'd tell them I wasn't interested in fighting, they'd push me, and then I'd punch them once in the stomach and reduce them tears. I always ended up getting detention as a result but I got off much easier than the kids who started it. The crowds always had my back, or at least, they respected my straightforward fighting style.

What would you do if you had no financial concerns? I mean no debt, all expenses were covered.

What is your favorite thing in the world?

If every movie in history aired at exactly the same time and you could watch only one, what would it be?

I'm leaving work early, and feel compelled to work extra hard because of that, but I've put in the extra hours throughout the week to account for it. What's up with this feeling, then?!

What is your favorite medium?
1) I don't mind since there are a few things I wanna see in 3D but don't want to pay full prices for or drag friends with, so I'll see a Tuesday matinee occasionally. I've only done this three times or so I think.

2) About two-thirds up, in the middle.

3) I have no idea who my favourite writer is. Gonna default to GRRM since I've been obsessed with that series for a couple years now but I don't know if I revere him or anything.

4) Most of what I paint comes from my head, it's rare that I paint from life or even a reference. But when a reference is available I use it to the fullest.

5) I prefer art that's at least a little cartoony or abstract. Hyperrealism doesn't do much for me.

6) My favourite artistic medium is just pencil on paper. I just love the texture of a rough graphite sketch. Even when I later "ink" something by tablet or something I usually keep my pencil layers in the final work.

1) I would draw cartoons forever. I would put up a stupid webcomic with little to no regard for attracting an audience or merchandising. Just for funsies.

2) My "favourite thing"? This question requires some narrowing down!

3) Do you mean, if all movies were obliterated and I could only watch one, and it would have to last me forever? In that case I'd probably watch the Hobbit, since it's the one I want to see most right now. Then I would fall to my knees and curse the gods.[DOUBLEPOST=1375462121][/DOUBLEPOST]

You feel the social obligation of worknig while at work. It's not easy to just sit there and take it easy for 8 hours, at least not for reasonable people.

Think like Julie Andrews in The Sound of Music.

When I'm feeling sad
I simply remember my favorite things

(I'm just shooting the breeze here, so I'm sorry if these have already been asked.)

Family traditions?
1) Depending on what I drink really. I can get loud and kinda obnoxious as with most drunk people, but more often I'll get emotional, quiet and introspective.

2) I'm a paranormal agnostic. All science so far makes it seems unlikely and I'm a man of science, but then, I'm not ready to discount their existence completely. No personal paranormal experiences, no.

3) My favourite tradition is Family Day sushi! Since 2008 we've had a long weekend in February here in Ontario, and every single year that it has existed, I've gone for all you can eat sushi on the holiday Monday. First year it was jsut with some friends, then the next year I took my mom and girlfriend, and it's expanded ever since then. This past February we had a reservation for 16. I'm hoping to franchise it it next year, since it's unreasonable to book that many people at once. I want this to become a tradition that eventually spreads to the world at large. :)
