Kay. Most of us don't have any issues with our sexuality/gender identity, right? So this is mostly to let folks know how they can tell their friends and family about today. And if you need a reminder why things like this matter, let's not forget the teen suicides that really need to stop. Please help. You might post this to your Face of Book page and help someone who really has no where to turn, if you can declare your support for LGBTQ folks. Thanks

I don't think I need to remind anyone how my "tell" went, but things have come a long way since then (in most areas anyway). The hardest part of being open and honest with yourself is letting your family know. Most good friends will already know, maybe some aquaintences might not, but telling a family you KNOW to be homophobic can be nightmarish. If having a "day" to come out is the little bit more strength you needed to push through the fear is a good thing then I support it completely. If you already had NO plans to tell them, I doubt a day would change anything but the fact that there's an unofficial day for this, I hope, will raise awareness in some families.
Thanks for the post Bia.

Where's my "Happy White Heterosexual" day?
Oh wait, that's right, it's every day of the year.
