Need some help with an .xls file.

Need something that I can use to work with an .xls file.

Don't have Windows Excel on this system, any alternatives?

Open office, for the most part anyway. Also the Google office suite.

It'll work with it, but there will be some funkiness. Especially if you need to pass the file back to a machine with M$ office.

for the future if you want something more lightweight than the full open office suite gnumeric will open xls files.
