I've been listening all morning to NewsTalk ZB and it's been interesting...until a lady named Joan called in.
She had seen a news report about a building collapsing and heard that people had been pulled out. She was looking for someone. The DJ said that the last news they had was that everyone but one was safe and that a girl named Jo was still in the rubble and was missing. The lady broke down. Jo is her daughter.
The poor DJ has been trying to help people all morning and you could just hear it in his voice that he didn't mean to break it to her in this manner. He tried and tried to make her feel better - his news was old, etc - but he knew he messed up. It was heartbreaking to listen to.
