Is this funny or is Apple taking things too seriously (again) ?

I personally thought it was absolutely funny and horribly shocking - even though I hate Apple products, it's horrifying to see an expensive item used as a rolled up newspaper and THWACKED - and mistakenly destroyed in the process.

Makes me wonder if they'll build newer iPads stronger to combat such an image?

While the ad was pretty funny, I'm not exactly surprised that Apple didn't want to chance a hit on their branding in order to help Newsday promote their free app.

I have a feeling Apple's problem was the large, jagged pieces of glass shown flying all over the place, which is a very serious safety hazard, when the screen would actually do this:
