O'Donnel asks Constitution question

In this video, she asks where in the Constitution the separation of church and state exists.

No, really.

Talk about scary.

To be fair, the phrase "seperation of church and state" isn't in the constitution, its from some letter of Thomas Jeffersons I think. Now what is in the constitution is the first ammendment's establishment clause (I think that's what its called), which is pretty straightforward. Sad that a serious contender for office can get away with saying stuff like that.

While it may not explicitly contain the exact phrase, the 1st Amendment is clear in prohibiting the government from basing laws or policies on religion. I'm amazed that a candidate for the US Senate doesn't understand that. She has to be one of the most incompetent politicians I've seen in a while. How in the world did she get this far anyway?

She's only incompetent if she loses.

You're right. If she wins, we're incompetent.

Well, she's down by 12 points in the recent polls. I'm going with utterly stupid and incompetent on this one.

After her opponent comes up with something closer to the actual wording (not the exact words unfortunately), she seems to ask disbelievingly if the first amendment says that. Check at about 7:15 into the video.

Well, her first "date" was on a "Satanic Alter."

I totally take that to mean that she sacrificed her virginity to some Proto-Wican Doofus. I doubt they had a box picnic there.

Philosopher B.

On the bright side, she's not a witch ... BITCH.

Also, I am totally on board with that ad she did on masturbation:

The Bible says that lust in your heart is committing adultery.
I feel lust in a completely different organ, so it's all cool.

The funny thing is that the Bible quote she's thinking of is about lust for another man's wife... using her logic from the op video she can masturbate as much as she wants as long as she's not thinking of another woman (that's married).

She was on GMA this morning claiming victory in that debate...

She was likely thinking that repeating Rush Limbaugh is a way to win debates. Even though she forgot to say the "PHRASE" separation of church and state. Asking anyone if Separation of Church and State is in the Bill of Rights, people will say yes, and think that the person asking such a question is a complete IDIOT. But asking "Is the phrase 'Separation of Church and State' in the Bill of Rights?" The answer would be no, but what does that matter?
