Stop playing shitty console games and buy a new PC.
Let me break it down this way:
Console games = wife and I spending time together.
To do this with a PC, I will need to buy two of them. We can't even afford one. Maybe if I put a stopper on buying console/handheld games, we could be unhappy for a few months and save up enough for one PC. And then I can laugh and play PC games while having no sex and hearing her be angry at me for ignoring her. And then after several more months, barring nothing's happened requiring hospital (which happens a lot, it seems), unemployment, car breaking down, vet bills, travel... yeah, then we could afford another. That's ignoring my trying to invest in getting my writing around for people to see and the fact that those other problems have put such a dent in my savings that we need to plow larger sums of money there before anywhere. AND my wife wants a house at some point.
Not to mention, last time I plowed a bunch of money into good gaming computers, they both broke within a month of each other after only a year of use, while this non-gaming computer has held up for three years.
Console gaming is cheaper, easier, and less headache. I love the days of L4D and TF2, but I've had to move on. Until our tax returns start being significantly larger, it's not going to happen.
