Ok, on my secondary computer, now I'm having a NEW freakin problem.

When I try to use my Skype to make a call using my Razer Megalodon I get this error:

"The controller does not have enough bandwidth available for the USB Composite Device, which has requestd 8% of the bus bandwidth"

Under Controller I have:

Standard Enhanced PCI to USB Host Controller -
System reserved 10%

Standard OpenHCD USB Host Controller -
System reserved 31%

"Recommendation:Move this device to a controller that has more available bandwidth or, to free bandwidth, close the programs using the devices on the current controller. If the programs cannot be found, unplug one or more devices."

When it rains... it pours.... Mind you, this is an older computer that never gave me problems before and is still running WinXP.

Rollback and re-install drivers on the USB Host controller?

Does your computer support USB 2? If uses USB 1, it may run into issues because it can't pass enough data through fast enough.

Ermmm.. Another question before you rollback the driver...

Is anything else plugged into the USB slot? And are you running XP SP2?

I'm on XP SP3.

I have my Keyboard and Mouse in USB slots.

My brother still keeps his PS2 keyboard plugged in because the USB one doesn't let him enter the BIOS as the keys don't work from the get go... did you use the headset on that PC before?

In my case there's no point, the old keyboard is still usable and my brother wants a new Pc anyhow (which should be cheap as he only plays DotA).

I was speaking more to Shego, but yes, it would work in your brother's situation as well.

Yeah, it just seemed kinda premature advice at this point though.

I've never run into that error, but the advice above sounds solid. Find the bandwidth leech (USB HDD? Thumb drive? Something using Readyboost?) and remove it OR make sure this isn't either a USB 1.1/2.0, power or hub contention issue. Take a peek here for some edification and possible explanation. Failing that, see if the error still occurs when the headset is plugged directly to a motherboard port (with nothing else in the chain, that is).
