Opinions on a Theme.

So, I posted in the epic win thread that I will be having my first gallery show from April 2nd to the 21st. This is very exciting to me however it leaves me with just about two months to get ready!

I'd like to have a theme but my parents keep tellnig me my ideas are absurd causing me a fair amount of doubt.

The things I love are the fantastic and legendary. Monsters, myths and heroes. I also love painting hot chicks and abstract symbolism.

So I was going to go with a theme of "Beauties, Beasts and Ravages". It would be an exhibition depicting decay and destruction as well as the beauty in that can come from such things.

So, what do you think? Too elaborate? Should I 'just have fun' and fill the gallery up with what ever flights of fantasy I have?

Are your mother and father artists? Who is the talent who was good enough to get a gallery showing?

What I'm trying to say is, someone saw enough creativity in your work to give you a showing. Trust in their expertise that you are good enough. Do what feels right to you and you'll be just fine.

Thanks Dave. I didn't want to say that to my parents.

I am looking for more opinions though, if people would be so kind. :)
