Tonight we will experience a total lunar eclipse (visible in the contiguous US) and it will occur on the Winter Solstice:

Unfortunately it will be cloudy here tonight, but it's something that happens so rarely as to be noteworthy.

I'll be accepting donations in beer and serving ribs.

Nope, all virgins have been reserved. You may apply for a virgin by filling out the correct paperwork at your local comic book store.

It's cloudy here, too. It will probably be impossible to see from my house

It is really cloudy here right now but I am hoping it will clear up by tonight (doubtful but I am still hopeful)

The eclipse is on right now in Finland. But it's too cloudy to see it.

Oh well... Guess I'll strip naked anyways.

Oh man, I just looked outside, no clouds in sight. I am jazzed.

Too bad it's going to be hidden behind the clouds full of snow here in the Midwest.

We just got home from some games with friends, and there is little cloud cover right where the moon is at. We probably won't stay up anyway...

A good resource on when the various stages will occur. The eclipse will be in totality for about 72 minutes, starting at 2:41am EST. The first stage of the eclipse, when the moon starts to wander into the earth's penumbra, will start at 1:15am EST, which is about 25 minutes from now.
