And soon hopefully. My copy has shipped a few days ago and I've been biding my time reading spurts of it's pdf. Absolutely nothing for players, but I'm still liking what I'm reading so far. Paizo is actually acknowledging that role-playing groups are a diverse group, and that not everyone plays their games like they are in the RPGA.

Man I love Pathfinder.

Anyone else order this book? Anyone have a hardcopy yet? thoughts?

Hoping to get a copy soon. I really dig their books. I want the new Bestiary and PHB to come out like right now too.

Never heard of it. Please fill me in.
I will assume you are familiar with Paizo's Pathfinder RPG system (aka DnD 3.75). Their new Game Mastery Guide would be if you took all the non rule based sections of the old DMG, expanded and improved upon it, and added back in all the NPC and world building charts. Like I said above there is nothing here at all for players, even the magic item sections were left in the core rulebook. There is a chapter on some subsection rules, like chase scenes and what not.

There's even sections devoted to player types (including problem players and min-maxers) and how to avoid common issues found in games.

So far I would consider this a must read for a first time GM.

Is this something that's designed just for Pathfinder or can it be applied to DMing other systems as well?

I'd imagine that the parts about player types and common issues in games will be universal, but a lot of it is going to be PFRPG centric.

I'll get it after my first royalty check from 4WFG for our first adventure module. Having a GMG probably would have made that one a bit easier, heh.

So, anyone seen it yet? I've read mixed reviews and am a little wary of actually bucking up and ordering a copy.
