A friend of Callistarya's lent her this movie with a breathless 'you have to watch this!"
OMG, so boring. So stupid. I didn't think the Blair Witch Project could suck any worse, but apparently, it can.

Aw! I've heard such good things, too. We're probably still going to watch it but now my expectations may be lowered.

I actually become very uninterested in this film because of the trailer, just seemed the kind of thing that promises too much and gives too little.

kaykordeath
I thought it was well done fun. It was a nice change of pace and much more creepy than scary, but certainly nothing new or never-before-seen.

Espy
Pretty much what kayaydeath said. It's MILES better than Blair Witch. It's not a "good" movie, but if you like ghost/demon stories it's not half bad and it has a few good jumps. As to the ending it's about 70% good and 30% "aw, come on guys you should have stopped at 70%" but you can thank Steven Speilberg for that since he gave them the ending they used.

Well, I've read about the other endings and honestly this one is probably the BEST one for the flow of the film but the others sound cool as well.
They only had the one? There are 2 alternate endings...
was it the one where she waits for days or the one where she offs herself?

Shannow
It was shitty.

TwoBit
I kinda liked it. Had some good scares in there, I thought.

See I scare easily. What's lame to so many is actually frightening to me, because I'm a huge chicken who's very easily startled, even when I expect something to happen. :\ I'd probably get freaked out watching it.

That said, the ending Tin saw does sound kind of goofy.

Fantastic film, loved every minute. Was completely believable if you give it the benefit of the doubt. Highly recommend it, the ending was perfect for the film that it was.
#13
Frankie Williamson
You LIKED the Spielberg ending? Whoa.
#14
Shegokigo
Yeah? Other than when
She lept at the screen
I thought it was fitting. The whole
body being tossed across the room at the camera, had the entire theatre, which was packed, screaming at the top of their lungs, then she (obviously possessed now) crawls to the body and you KNOW she's going to do horrible things to the body
was just the kind of ending I was hoping for.

Frankie Williamson
I dunno, the ending where she
where she murders her husband and then sits there until police arrived seemed much more fitting. The whole demon face at the end was easily the worst thing about the movie and completely lost me.

Totally agree. I thought the ending was perfect except for that very last part.

Personally, I think they should of just had her
walk up stairs and turn off the camera.

I think it's effective if viewed under the right circumstances and you roll with it. I enjoyed it.

In a full theatre without a bunch of loudmouths, it was a fantastic watch. Alot of people were at the edge of their seats. The intense moments had people gripping their partners or chairs. They "scares" sent shockwaves through the audience. It was a really well done, well paced, well directed/acted film. I haven't enjoyed a horror movie like that in a long time (Since Brazillian REC)
#20
Cajungal
That's comforting. Maybe I'll watch it just to give it a try.

...and the rest is just them making toast in the morning, mowing the lawn, paying bills?...

I love the spoiler tags in this thread. With the help of my dirty mind, it kinda looks like you are talking of a Porno.

ThatGrinningIdiot!
I don't watch anything "paranormal" anymore. I'm either sneering or laughing.
#24
Shegokigo
The overexaggeration of how "horrible" the "innane" parts are is hilarious. No wonder you hated it, you were in it 100% for the ghost parts and nothing about the characters themselves.
"To hell with character development and backstory, I wanna see ghosty things!"

It seems like Tin is saying quite the opposite. That he wanted that stuff, but got really bad substitute instead.
I haven't seen it, but that's definitely what I got out of Tinwhistler's posts.

Shegokigo
You and I watched two completely different movies if you thought there was no tension, drama or character development.
100% disagree in every way on that.
#27
Cajungal
It never ceases to amaze me how two people can watch the same thing and see something so vastly different.
#28
Shegokigo
Yeah, mostly everyone I've seen it on this side of the pond (Just rewatched it last night) loved it, and preferred the"Speilberg" ending by a large margain.
