Pete Rose, Charlie Hustle, formerly of the Cincinnati Reds organization has passed away. He was 83. He is still a he all-time hits leader for MLB.

As much as I can admire him as a player, as a manager he screwed himself against a commissioner that wanted to flex his power. Rose made the deal to avoid worse consequences, banned for life, but now that life is over. Giamatti was a weak commissioner and used the stupidity of Rose to try to show how tough he was. It may still take a few years for him to get in the HoF, but it’s gonna take some old timer reporters passing to get there.

I'm not a baseball fan, so the only thing I know him from was getting tombstoned by Kane at WrestleMania three years in a row. Heh, i thought it was going to become an annual tradition for awhile. Pete always seemed to have fun and was a good sport about it.

Eh. Baseball had been making overtures that they were willing to welcome him back and then it came out that he committed statutory rape.
