This isn't part of the Will Turner saga, as that ended with At World's End. This is about Jack once again looking for a way to live forever, using the charts he stole from Barbossa at the end of At World's End. He's trying to find the Fountain of Youth, so the movie is likely going to be about him looking for someone who knows where it is, while trying to keep people who really shouldn't live forever away from it. Expect to see references to Juan Ponce de León, as he's pretty well tied into the legend.

Love the hell out of the series, love the hell out of Jack Sparrow. I'll be there opening day and will add it to my DVD collection when it's released. Simple as that.

I wish Jack Sparrow didn't continually sound like he was drunk. I love the guy, but the voice gets on my nerves.
PotC has been ripping on "On Stranger Tides" from the start. Now it is official. Disney owns the rights to the novel and they are joining the two story lines together.
Unfortunately for you, that's exactly the intention.

I'm quite aware of that. Doesn't make it less annoying, however.

I'm waiting for Pogo's PotC remix (he's the one that did Upular). He completed a PotC remix under contract with Disney, then they told him to shelve it after completion. Later he was told it would be used as part of the promotion for this new film, so I expect to see it soon...

Just based on the trailer, I can already tell I am going to like this more then the last two movies. To be honest, my two biggest issues with the last two movies was...
1) It destroyed much of the tight, satisfying ending of the original.
2) It was attempting to be way more epic then it should have been, with "pirate kings", sea goddesses, the ability to travel into the lands of the dead, etc...
The first movie was simply pirates that were cursed by mysterious aztec gold, and I liked that simplicity. We didn't need krakens, gods, armadas and shit.
I am just curious how they are going to talk up Blackbeard though, considering he is following up Davy f'ing Jones. I guess they are just going to explain he works outside the other pirates or something since they all were shown to have a club in the last movie.

Fantastic looking trailer and yes.... Ian McShane as Blackbeard? YES PLEASE. I loved him in the Pillars of the Earth. Loved to hate him.
Quality actor right there.
Looks solid

At first I was all like, "Another Pirates of the Caribbean film? Meh, but I'll watch the trailer anyway."
And then the familiar theme music started.
And then I was all like

Hearing Penelope Cruz speak spanish with an andalusian accent is kinda funny.
"¡Ehparrow, veng aquí o te arranco la cabesa!"

So what did she actually say? Something about coming here and doing something to Jack's head?

"Come here or I'll rip your head off!"

Penelope Cruz is fucking rad, they shoulda made the movie about her. I REALLY REALLY REALLY want this to be good. If I was a praying man, I'd pray for this to have a tight but light-hearted script. Please Haysus don't let this be the POTC equivalent of Wolverine ...
On the for real tip though, even if the bits in the trailer are the only good ones, it'll probably still achieve that.
