Alright, should I get a PS3? Or just wait until the next system comes out?

I want a blu-ray player and wouldn't mind getting my hands on Uncharted 3... but I mean, I could probably just get a blu-ray player and wait until Playstation4 or X-Box 1080.

I'd get it solely for the Blu-Ray. But I can't justify the expense.

But here's what you do. Go to a Best Buy or other electronics store. Make sure the person working there is a girl you find even moderately attractive. Ask her about PS3s.

This helps you figure out what to get and also helps with your other thread about social anxiety.

I personally would recommend getting a PS3 if you want a Blu-Ray player. Not only is the PS3 one of the best Blu-Ray players out there it also play games (obviously) and it has free online play. Also if you have a Netflix account you can use the PS3 to stream Netflix onto your TV. Also the PS4 will probably be at least a year and half away if not longer.

"Sorry Sir, I'm not interested in your PSP-Lite"

You should get an older system if you'll be an occassional gamer and will use it mostly as a Blu-Ray. Should cost you close to $200 or so, a bit more expensive than a normal Blu-Ray player but it plays them extremely well and with the extra benefits such as gaming, etc... it's worth it.

320 GB is completely overkill.

Get the 160 one, or smaller, unless you plan to write a whole bunch of your games to the local HD.

From what I understand, neither company is in any rush to release the next console. That might change with the Wii 2, but I remember reading somewhere that a Sony head said that the PS3 is still going to be a viable system for a good long while.

So yeah, I say get one. Heck, Uncharted 1 & 2 got re-released in a nice, affordable 2-pack recently. You could go all out, there. Especially with the ICO & Shadow of the Coloussus collection coming out.

Should I get the 320 GB system? Also, isn't there only one kind that can play PS2 games?
Unless you plan on downloading a LOT of demos and downloadable-only games, I agree with Jay: stick with the 160. I download quite a bit on my 320gb and I've yet to even scratch the HD's surface.

As far as playing PS2 games, that was only on the earliest PS3 models. They've since taken that out of current models. It's ridiculously expensive on eBay to get a first-run system.

unlike Xbox 360, you can upgrade your own HDD in PS3 (I did I have 750GB drive in mine) runs like a champ and loving it.

note: Best Buy gaming department in McKinney is run by hot women :) seriously!

I believe the old 20 and 60(?) did ps2 games but none of the newer ones do. I have a 20 and just switched out the hd to 320 or something. (and no silly gold account for netflix woohoo)
I concur with the smoking baby. It is worth it.
