Yeah. I may have to adapt my post.
Provably the last decent person to make it to the presidency. Whether he was actually a good president depends on how you define that, I guess.

Carter presided over a miserable stretch of stagflation and the Iranian oil shock. Voters were really angry at global economics and the Federal Reserve, but they took it out on Carter just as they had taken out their frustrations on Ford. Sounds familiar.

People say they voted for Trump because career politicians are dishonest and what we need is an Everyman "of the People."
These people should instead have been looking at Carter as their example, but oh no he was a Democrat nope can't possibly automatic disqualification too bad.
