The project to design a 3D printable gun has been hitting all sorts of speed bumps along the way, but they tested a gun where nearly half of it is printed. The lower part and action are printed, the barrel and upper are existing gun parts.
It broke after 6 shots.
Not too far away, though, from being able to print your own firearm.

It will be easier and cheaper to purchase a Lorcin Saturday Night Special for many decades to come.

Or make your own zip out of a broken aerial.
Get back to me when you can print your own ammunition, then I'll be worried.

Also a Lorcin breaks apart after firing 6 times.

I heard the creator of this project the creator of a similar the creator of this project on NPR the other night. He seems to think that if he gets shot with one of these, it will be because of some liberal trying to make a point.
Edit: Sorry, was thinking of the wiki gun fella doing something similar
Edit 2: Nevermind, it is him

I can't tell how I feel about the future yet.

Considering how much it costs to set all this up, it might actually be cheaper to just buy a gun unless you already have the printing equipment and medium.

Its a scary idea though because someone that doesn't qualify for a gun could fairly easily make one. Especially as 3d printing costs go down. This would basically make gun control impossible.

Six shots is plenty for someone planning mischief.
