PS3 - Recommend Games!

Beyond anything Bioware has made, NHL11, Heavy Rain and Yakuza 3... recommend me good games for the PS3.

Little Big Planet, Infamous, Prototype, Uncharted 1 & 2 (especially 2), Batman: Arkham Asylum

And of course, some downloadable ones on PSN: Scott Pilgrim, Turtles in Time, Final Fight, Joe Danger, Shank

I've finished both Batman and Bayonetta on other platforms. Little big Planet is cute but not my style alas, no those really neat looking FPS/TPS games. Aiming with a controller sucks a dick. As you already know dear Nick.

Ah. Yeah, for some reason, I can manage TPS games. Okay, scratch the vast majority of my list...

...but keep all the PSN recommendations. :D

I tried all the demos and they looked REALLY INTERESTING but when combat started I felt close to getting an anxiety attack. I was so frustrated with the shooting mechanisms and dumbed down AI for console gamers. I'm a total "play on hardest" mouse/keyboard type of guy. Playing on Easy and aiming like a french soldier wore down on my patience, quickly.

Pretty much ever game I could think to mention has already mentioned is up here, except for God of War III. Not to start a fanboy war here, but the PS3 library is a little lacking. It's a shame, seing as some of my favorite title ever came from Sony, back in the PS1 and 2 era. I don't know what happened there, but it is a real shame. and with their focus seemingly on the new Move, its likely the really good title still wont be coming, unless Sony forgot to mention them in the rush to try and promote Move, which is an ill fated project in the making. I don't know what happened, but i really do hope sony comes to their collective senses and remembers that good titles sell consoles, and they make more excelent PS3 games such as God of War III, Infamous, Uncharted 2, and Heavy Rain. They've shown they still have what it takes to make instant classic games, so lets get to it in the second half of the consol life. I believe in you Sony, lets see what you can do.

I have a black background, so when I type, I can't see what I'm typing, and therefor cannot see potential typos. hence the red.

Uncharted 2
Call of Duty: Black Ops (add me, fucker)
Red Dead Redemption (zombie killing online is super fun)
Resident Evil 5
Dead Rising 2

Hmmm, I think I have a zombie fetish.

Curious how someone mentioned the Xbox360 library being better than the PS3 library. Seeing as nearly every game is now cross-platform, that seems a big disingenuous.

Thats what I was thinking? I mean what, I can't get Halo and play it with my frat bros? Oh darn. :p

Yeah me too, I remember seeing that and thinking it would be cool to play it. But in the end I'm not running out of games to play so I'm not gonna cry about the occasional game that doesn't go cross platform.

Uncharted & Uncharted 2

MLB the Show.

Grand Turismo 5 is surprising me with how much I enjoy it. I've hated the past GT games, but find myself really having fun with 5.

I'm currently looking for a good price for the PS3 version of red dead redemption with the undead dlc, this possible? or have buy separate?

You can buy the Undead Nightmare by itself independent of RDR if you want. That's what my bro did and it allows for pretty much all the multiplayer available online. (Roaming Mode, etc)

I bought Red Dead Redemption yesterday..... and then played till 3 AM. :O

Needless to say, it's awesome. So, who owns it and who wants to join my posse?

Me me me me. Although I'm out of town ATM, add me. PSN: adammon

My bro and I play a lot of undead nightmare.

Valkyria Chronicles

I would actually say rent this one if you can. It's an amazing game...for all 7 hours of content there is with no re-play value or much multi-player fun.
I disagree in that I think it's actually pretty fun 2nd time through with all levelled-up people, but hey, that's just me maybe. Either way, awesome game.

Also the Pixeljunk games, being "Eden" and "Shooter" are awesome. Both have demos, so you'll know fast if you'll like them or not, but I highly recommend them.

Fat Princess is also surprisingly fun. It can be frustrating if the teams are completely unbalanced with skill/initiative, but 90% of the time it's a blast.

Also my wife and a few of my friends are REALLY fond of "Mushroom Wars." It's an RTS-kind-of. Again, try the demo, see what you think. I couldn't get into it, but as I said, a lot of others I know REALLY like it.

My "rent it" comment was actually in response to Chibi's Brutal Legend suggestion, but there is a strange quoting display bug that prevents quotes from displaying properly at times.

Thanks for this thread. I was just going to ask the same thing. You can include old PS3 games for me, too. I just got it. I picked up Little Big Planet and Bioshock. Both are good. The only thing I don't like about Bioshock is that there seems to be absolutely no penalty to dying. The enemies even stay damaged when you come back to life. Good story though.
