You might know him as Norah Jones' dad, or you might remember him as the guy who hung out with the Beatles and taught George Harrison how to properly play the sitar. However you remember him, his influence on the music world cannot be denied.

I knew him from his work on The Beatles. I think I also watched that episode of the Dick Cavett Show (I used to watch it all the time during summer break.) Also when I learned that he was Nora's dad, my jaw hit the floor. I looked her up to see why so many music stars were dueting with her on her first album.
