That is THE WORST Yogi Bear impersonation I have ever heard. I would have given this movie a pass if it was being competently done (like the first Scooby Doo movie) but this just the CG is ugly is ugly and Dan Akyrod apparently can't do Yogi Bear's voice right.

Dude... Robin Williams ruined Popeye 20 some odd years ago. What we're waiting for is somebody to ruin Betty Bopp (aside from pointing out the fact she's supposed to be 14 in those cartoons of hers...)

I think Busey would be perfect for Captain Caveman and on the bright side the movie really couldn't be any worse than the cartoon was.

This. So much this. It doesn't sound like Yogi, it doesn't look like Yogi.

Yeah...the kids that this movie are aimed aren't going to give two shits if it sounds like the cartoon Yogi. It's painfully obvious that these movies aren't made with the aim of pleasing adults or fans of the original show...at least not the ones that bitch into the ether that is the internet. See, for every person on a forum that bitches, there are many more that will put their asses in the movie seats and watch this...if only to entertain their snot nosed brats for an hour and a half.

They aren't raping your childhood...they are making one for the kids of this generation. Get over yourself.

That's all I took away from this trailer.

Well, that and Yogi kinda sounds like Rodney Dangerfield.

They are raping the childhoods of this generation. Of course there were always shitty kids movies. And there will always be shitty kids movies. But dammit, there are too many people that do it right. Just because it is for a bunch of snot nosed brats, does not mean it should suck.

I don't have a strong attachment to Yogi Bear. The problem is not that it's different than my childhood, it's that it's badly copying a classic. A new voice for Yogi would be less offensive than a bad impression. A new look would be preferrable to a cheap looking copy.

Yeah, the movie will probably get kids in the seats. So does a Pixar film, and Pixar does it while being excellent. Just because it's aimed at kids doesn't mean can be crap and not get called out for the crap that it is.

I don't care that he does not sound like Yogi, because Yogi did not sound like Yogi to begin with. And he was funny.

Akroyd should work on being funny, not trying to be like another voice actor. The original voice actor was supposed to sound like Yogi Bera, and he did not.

Hanna-Barbera was only good for giving Harvey Bidman: Attorney At Law plenty of fodder to use as characters. Those cartoons really didn't age well.

But it's in 3D, so it'll totally own.

Seriously, I'll skip it. Even with the kid's movies, we don't have to watch every movie that comes out.

That's why it did not bother me when Scooby Do Movie sucked so bad. Well it can't be worse than cartoon.

As a cartoon Yogi Bear was bad, but the voice actor was very funny. It was always a cartoon that I could watch from the next room. Kinda like a radio drama.

Scooby Doo, also... that also sucked. The spoofs of it are way more funny--like the ones on Johnny Bravo and the Venture brothers.

I thought the Scooby Doo movie wasn't half bad. Only seen the first one though.
It was perfectly fine. I think one of the bigger problems it had though was finding original jokes for it... it had been 30 years since the series had ended, so everyone had already made most of the good jokes already. However, having Scrappy as the main villain redeems the entire movie in my eyes.

The sequel is nowhere near as good, but it's not as bad as some movies have been.

Ah yes Mirror Universe Summer of 2010 where movie-going was actually a non-stop roller coaster ride of movie-awesomeness as opposed to what we got.

When Scooby Doo came out, my younger cousins absolutely loved it. If they could have worn out the DVD, they would have. They even loved SD2. They even went as far as to play Scooby Doo with their mutt dog as Scooby. It was amusing. I didn't enjoy the movie at all, nor do I remember much because I wasn't paying too much attention. But, again I reiterate that the movie wasn't aimed at me. The target audience lapped it up.

PS, the negative rep for my previous post is amusing, since the whole childhood thing is the most often used complaint by internet forum cry babies in response to movies about old cartoons/movies being remade.

Ehhhh, I don't know, man. Inception was great. And I'm damn looking forward to Scott Pilgrim and The Expendables.

Plus, we had Iron Man 2 and Toy Story 3.
