I can't even mention how much I love this game. Just the idea of it has always been appealing to me, about leading a group of survivors attempting to make a life in the middle of a zombie wasteland, finding new people, handling food management and defensive management.

You have to play it on the harder difficulty for it to be a challenge. Even the "tough" option is actually pretty darn easy. Have yet to try "Impossible".

This game makes me wonder why no large game developer or maybe even decently funded indy game developer have attempted such a game in a similar style. I can just imagine a 3d rts style game where you own a single building with a handful of survivors, have to send out teams to collect materials, all the while trying to expand your "compound" out, with random groups of the undead just attacking areas of the wall. I would buy such a game in a heartbeat if it was anything like a better looking Rebuild.

Been playing this all morning. It's not a huge chance from the first but the new additions are nice, very very nice.

Yes the formula is pretty much the same, though it's a lot harder to get a few of the "victories" like the Zombie Cure this time around. Before you just needed to get all the upgrades and the cure appeared. Now you have to follow a series of events that steals one of your research squares and a member of your compound. I find the new "Kill the Judgement Gang" victory condition to be the easiest now, more so if you have a lot of soldiers.

My favorite part I don't remember from the first is the ability, once you win, to take 5 survivors and start a new city using either the helicopter or nation victories. I already took my five best into a new game on the huge map.

A few helpful hints.

Always work towards claiming a square by going down the list. Scout it first so you don't go in blind, then recruit any survivors if you got room, then run a scavenger team, then kill the zombies, then reclaim the location.

You want to scavenge even when you have enough food. The reason being is that you have a chance while scavenging to find weapons or items that you can equip your survivors. Down the line, if you don't need the items, you can unequip them and during random Gustav visits, he will buy them from you for food rations. When you claim the square you do NOT get items (as silly as that sounds) so you always want to scavenge first.

Also, try to have as many survivors as possible working, either in farms, research, churches, guard stations, etc. Idle survivors will only gain attack skill when a random attack happens, but the guards will gain skill just for being on duty. Same with the farmers gaining scavenging, preachers/bartenders gain leadership, etc... The only two that don't have a day to day leveling option is building and research, so I recommend picking a few survivors and putting them through a school if you own it.

Pretty close to the first but I enjoyed the updates too. Though after I had beat it one way and had continued playing before I could get to fixing the helicopter the game decided I wouldnt actually have any usable turns. Out of fourteen days I could only do stuff on three because everyone decided to start celebrating the church everyday and killing themselves and then celebrating more. It wouldnt even let me get rid of the guy in the church I just had to keep ending the days doing absolutely nothing watching wave after wave of the hordes come and not being able to do anything. I just had to turn it off after that. Damn zombie worshipers.

I let a guy preach in the church and for some reason he wanted to worship zombies so I let him. After a while there would be random holidays for the church and if anyone died they would have a mandatory holiday to celebrate them becoming the superior race aka a zombie. Though in the last 30 days before I quit people would just start committing suicide to become a zombie causing a mandatory holiday where the game would not let anyone do any work.

Yeah, I turned down that idea just after the book and when someone prompted to start preaching.

Let me tell you something, if there's an Apocalypse and I'm in charge, I'm removing religion from the equation and starting fresh where all men/women of all colors and races can live in harmony.

:)

Yeah I thought about that but I figured I would be open minded and let them practice whatever they wanted and these were the results

Now I know better. Should of just let them all worshipped at the casino.;)

It is pretty fun. I decide to continue to get 3 endings (not sure if there are more)
standard 30 buildings+capital, helicopter, killing the gang, are there more?

One more that I know of.
You can research a cure for zombieism. If you want to know how:
Once you have a lab, a scientist will join your camp and ask to seal himself into it. You lose control of the lab, but if you keep researching/give him everything he wants, eventually he'll discover a cure for zombieism... In Russian. Once translated, you dedicate X staff to X turns of research and... CURED
