Red Steel 2- New previews and videos (and a short review from me.)

I am seriously hyped for this game! From the previews, it sounds like a massive improvement over the first one. It has Cowboys and Samurai in a stylish cel-shaded post-apocalyptic wasteland with Wii MotionPlus powered Katana-slicing action. I am SO there. If a thread like this exists somewhere, I apologize.

Eurogamer preview (The best one.)

And while you're at it, look at this awesome picture of the game's director, Jason VandenBerghe. He has a cane. Fear him.

Red Steel 2- New previews and videos

While it does look and sound like a huge improvement, I'll wait for the reviews before getting excited. The original came out very early in the Wii's existence, so I wasn't surprised that it sucked and didn't understand how to properly use the controls and such. Conduit had no excuse though--Metroid Prime 3 had been made, as had the Resident Evil 4 port, and both showed how much an aim function would be necessary with strafing and such when taking the Wiimote into account. It's not like a mouse.

After just one hour of play, I am confidently giving this game a BADASS* out of 10. Really, if the Wii Motion Plus needed a killer app, this is it. It's simply one of the most straight up fun action games (Calling it a FPS doesn't feel quite right even though the guns are fine) I've ever played. It's Devil May Cry in first person. It runs at 60 frames a second. It looks damn good. It controls amazingly well. It just plain rocks! We need more third-party Wii games like this.

* Adjustable. Will play more tonight.

Even Yahtzee didn't hate it completely. I mean, he didn't like it, but not completely and utterly despising it is rare for him with a wii game.

Might as well link my review: http://nsider2.com/2010/04/02/red-steel-2-review/

I loved the game, though it was a little short and shallow. Real proper sword fighting, though, is amazing.
