No ifs and or buts about it. Porn will ruin any and all marriages. No exceptions, repent now while you still can!

I call BS. I say it is the partner's jealously that ruins it. My wife and I know that we look at porn. It is a form of entertainment like anything (movies and such) and even watch together. We are comfortable in our sexuality and in ourselves to do that. We communicate. That is what ruins marriages. Lack of communication (IMO).
If you have little demons/skeletons or whatever in your closet and you keep it from your spouse (doesn't matter on either side) there is a chance it could make or break it. You be surprise how much communication goes a long way. My wife and I have open communication since day 1 from dating (I didn't tell her everything at once but little by little hehe)

I thought broken marriages led to porn...

I can kinda agree with the article in the sense that if you're devoting all your time to porn then, yes, it can be problematic for your marriage. But it's not exclusive to porn, it can be any other time consuming addiction like drugs, gambling, video games, etc...
Bottom line thing about love is that you're supposed to put your own selfishness aside for your significant other and they do the same. When there's real love in a marriage you should want to better yourself for your partner; nixing porn could be one of those factors. Of course every marriage is different, just as every person is different. Blaming porn exclusively is just silly. Marriage is about love. Period. How that love is expressed varies from couple to couple.

That article is way too short to draw any kind of conclusions at all, but I have to ask, who said watching porn has to be a solo activity?
I pretty much see it like Mathias. I don't think that porn is the root problem, selfishness/inconsideration is. Feeling like you have the right to have your needs met (through whatever floats your boat) if your spouse isn't meeting them. Just because you can do something, doesn't mean you should do it.

Pornography can cause marriage problems, both in terms of addiction (just like gambling, alcoholism, drugs, etc) and in terms of the sexual relationship one has with their spouse (just like unwise money handling can cause problems with the financial relationship with the spouse). Pornography, like any other fantasy material, can engender unhealthy expectations and can give poor lessons on what human sexuality is and can be. Some women compare themselves and their sexual relationship with the actors in pornographic material and feel inadequate in many ways, and that can hurt intimacy.
Some religious leaders have found that some percentage of men are susceptible to significant addiction, or that some statistically significant number of women will not be able to have a strong relationship with someone who consumes pornography.
This doesn't mean that everyone will suffer these problems, nor that marriages are falling apart right and left due only to pornography.
Of course they would advise their church members that consuming pornography has some risk of hurting their marriage. Just like getting an immunization may prevent a one in one thousand chance of getting a fatal illness, staying away from pornography may prevent a one in one thousand chance of damaging their marriage.
Also, this probably should have been posted in the politics/religion subforum...

Nice exageration Jiarn. No where in that article did i see where it says that. It says that porn nearly ruined THAT marriage and can ruin other marriages. The only thing church related in that article was that they were church going people and it was a religious magazine that printed the story.
Keep trying though, I'm sure you can find something to prove that all religion is an EVIL thing.

Hate to break it to you, but just cause a few nut jobs take religious zeal to far does not make all religions evil.
Generalizations based on what you see on the news are not informed opinions. If you can prove that Islam, Judaism, or christianity are evil I would be glad to hear about it.

Religion isn't evil. People are. And, unfortunately, people have religions.

That about right jwhouk.
I prefer to believe there are evil people and good people. Sadly, every religion has both in them.
