All right, Nick. There's your third one. Man, I loved this guy, too. Until he did Mork & Mindy. That was terrible.

I loved him in his old stuff with Dean Martin. Dude was amazingly gifted as an improv comedic actor.

It's a shame to hear of him passing away. I still love his performance in It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World. Still gets me chuckling. Sad his last work, though, was The Smurfs 2...

Also, I believe this is a fourth celebrity death. We had Roger Ebert, Margaret Thatcher, Annette Funicello and now this.

I was just wondering about him a couple weeks ago.
Strangely enough, it was his performance in The Shadow that popped into my head and got me to wondering.
That got me to thinking about his Tiny Toons stint (as Hamton's dad) and other things. I found him extremely gifted comedically even though he usually played it straight and subdued, unlike the wild and "loose" people like Robin Williams, Jim Carrey, or the like.

I suppose next we'll be hearing about Billy Crystal or something.

Why does is seem a lot of great actor's last works are their most underwhelming? Mel Blansc's last role was Spacely Sprocket in the Jetsons movie, Orson Welles' last role was in The Transformers movie, and this guys' last role was Smurfs 2! Is it a curse? I bet its a curse.

Edit: Oh no...what if Frank Welker's last role is Gargamel's cat in Smurfs 3? PLEASE NO!

Hey, now, Orson Wells' last role was in the GOOD Transformers movie.

You got the touch!

You got the poweeeeeeeeeer!

Don't forget that Dennis Hopper's last role was in Alpha and Omega and that Cars was a last film for both Paul Newman and George Carlin.

A number of actors who are physically unable to meet a movie's needs turn to voiceover work. Rather than a curse, it's a natural progression for those that want to keep working but are limited by their body.

True it was awesome and so was Orson, but compared to a lot of his earlier work its a bit underwhelming. Plus I wish he had more lines, if he did I would think it would be a perfect role for him to end on and not an okay one.
