Review: A movie that had a lot of production problems, and it shows. However I have to give this film a lot of credit. It's an absolutely beautiful movie, even if some of the animation and script doesn't really flow perfectly together. Some scenes seem rather clunky and a few jokes are ruined by a poor voice performance or bad editing. A lot of it is hit and miss, but... I still enjoy it. I still show it to those who have any bit of interest. I mean as far as adult animation goes this one is probably one of the better ones that you'll find in the 70s, 80s era. Ralph Bakshi seemed to be the king of that genre, yet this film is so much better than any of his. At least this one is fully animated, beautifully. They may have had buget problems, but they didn't resort to taking stock footage of an army, draw horns on everyone and call it "animation".

As a fan of the glam rock era, I loved the hell out of this movie. You just have to watch it more as an extended music video with a loose narrative like The Wall, rather than a narrative film.

I've never been able to get my wife to watch this movie, nor Heavy Metal.

I cry a little on the inside because of it.
