Roddy is a better actor and you can understand him. I'm right there with ya.

I'm discussing his death on a wrestling blog I frequent. So many great memories.
When he commissioner:
"Now, as Commissioner, I have some new rules."
"Rules? You don't follow any rules!"
*tosses the papers aside* You know, you raise a fine point!
During a newer Piper's Pit where the crowd kept chanting "what!?" at him. And then he trolled them but listing things super-fast and then said, "Try to keep up!"

He didn't do much acting, but he was in classics like They Live and was fucking hilarious on It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

One of the best performers in the history of the business. Entertaining as hell. So sad.

There are very few things in wrestling that I would call perfect, but Bret/Piper is one of them. You had a great story, a one-of-a-kind ***** match, and fantastic commentary from Gorilla/Heenan.
"Use it! Use it! Waffle him with it! Remember that old saying: what the hell, use the bell! Hit him! Give it to me, I'll hit him!"

I couldn't care less about wrestling, but They Live is a cult classic. He was pretty young still. That's a shame.

I watched a little WWF when I was a kid, and I always liked Piper. He was just so entertaining.

Heard about this at work today from a guy in the break room.
The disappointing part was hearing the following from so many people who came in.
Guy sitting in break room: "So didja hear that Rowdy Roddy Piper died today?"
Guy who just entered break room: "Who?"
<facepalm>

I think the worst part of this is that he just kicked cancer's ass and was cancer free. Dude had a long fight with it and totally won. Couple months later he dies in his sleep from a heart attack.
