I bought an FC Twin system the other day with the hopes of replaying a lot of the old school games of my youth. It's also a solution to the problem I have with the old Capcom Disney games never being re-released due to Disney contract issues. I could go with an emulator but I question their legality and I prefer the feel of sitting in front of a TV with a control in hand.
I brought out some SNES games from storage and despite a weird colorization issue on the "Buster Busts Loose" title screen, all the games have played perfectly fine.
I also bought old copies of Duck Tales and Contra. The NES port is a bit wonky but the games seem to function with a little effort. I have yet to try Contra but I have to unfortunately confirm the Wiki post that Duck Tales will not work on the system because the "B" function doesn't activate properly (You sort of do this weird squat instead of use the cane).

I'm looking to build a bit of a library for this system and am seeing if there is anyone out there willing to donate. Not really trying to spend much money on this, but I'll of course cover for the cost of shipping.

Oh. And Zombies Ate My Neighbors... still one of my favorite SNES titles.

Try pawn shops. They tend to have tons of carts.

Also, I agree on Zombies Ate My Neighbors. Good game. Had the Genesis version.

Why the hell wouldn't you just buy a NES or a SNES. Either or is like 20 bucks tops and amazingly enough, they both play all SNES and NES games.

I collect classic video games as a hobby and I can tell you the best places to get classic games are Pawn shops, Thrift Stores,Flea Markets, and Garage Sales. I recommend you check videogamepricecharts to get the average value for a game that way you can be sure you are not getting ripped off.

The internet ruined pawn shops here. I remember when I was a kid and I could get pretty much any NES game for 5-10 bucks. Now they want 50-200 dollars for fucking anything that is/was good.

That is true that most pawn shops have started overcharging for game but you can still get a good deal if you look around.

Holy hell... my copy of Duck Tales 2 for the NES is worth $43!? I need to go through my old collection and start eBaying the shit out of it. Maybe then I could afford a 360 or something.

Duck Tales 2 is one of those rare games that is worth a pretty penny even without the original box or instructions. I might consider getting a copy but right now it's out of my price range. I bought Contra via Amazon and paid about $15 for that (no box or instructions).
If you want to cut me a deal on your copy of Duck Tales 2 I'll offer you $15. But if you want to make more on it I totally understand. I'm sure it's worth the $40+.

I know I don't have the original box, but I probably still have the original instructions. I was really good about keeping those when I was a kid, even if some of them got turn up. I'm going to pull out my collection sometime soon and see what I have, but until then I'm not selling anything. I'm definitely going for full price though... I'm not working right now and could really use some disposable income :(

Sorry, I don't have anything I wish to part with... my SNES is still in perfect working condition sitting beside my TV in my bedroom. :) I'm still kicking myself for either loaning out or losing Super Mario All-Stars, I miss it so much. :waah:

What I regret is that when I was a kid I ended up trading away my games so I could get more or having my mom give away a few she t6hough I didn't need anymore. But now ironically it is my hobby top collect old and new games and I told myself unless it was for emergency I am not to sell off anymore games so that way my collection will continue to grow. :)

Ouch, that's a shame. I picked up my copy for like $0.10 at a local Walmart about 10 years ago. Probably the cheapest and best method of owning all three (four if you count lost levels) of the original S. Mario games.

I have the virtual console version of 1 and I have the Game Boy Advance version of 3, but it was just so convenient, and I really loved the graphic update. It looks like it's selling for around 15-20 on ebay, and I've looked at it a few times before and thought about buying it and thought "I know I'll find mine, so I don't want to waste the money." But, I might just break down and buy it, and worse case scenario, sell it again if I do find mine.

Feel free to pm me a list if you like. I'm mostly looking for Capcom/Disney games but any Megaman titles, arcade titles (like popeye or donkey kong), and TMNT games (specially 2 and 3). Not so much into sports games.

I still have all the NES Megaman games (1-6). They are my babies, and I would go on a murderous rampage if anything happened to them. Also have Ducktales, Rescue Rangers, and Little Nemo. Man, I need to find my NES again so I can play them, it's been a while.

My favorite NES game is Super Dodge Ball. Yes, it's a "sports" game, but it's not realistic at all. The super throws are so much fun. (There was a soccer game with similar super kicks, and even hit-points for characters, but I can't remember the title. Good grief, my friend and I had so much fun with one, sending the computer characters flying around the screen with a well timed kick.)

The Magical Quest Starring Mickey Mouse on SNES was a good platformer. Too tough for me to beat back when I was a kid, but pretty amazing considering it was Mickey.

Fun fact: David Jaffe, directer of Twisted Metal and God of War 1 & 2, was also a designer on Mickey Mania: The Timeless Adventures of Mickey Mouse. Now THAT was a hard game.

According to this site, with some of my games I could buy an Xbox360 Elite and a 40'' 1080p 120hz tv with a surround sound system....

Problem is, I couldn't part with them.....

I don't really have a lot of "treasured" 8-bit games... my treasured games are all SNES and up. So I don't really have a problem with getting rid of the NES ones, except Final Fantasy and Dragon Warrior.
