I hate being sick. What's worse is that I had a long-standing record of being vomit free for over 20 years. Like Ted on How I Met Your Mother, I used to like thinking I was vomit free since Grade 3 (or so).
That record, sadly, was broken five minutes ago.
Ugh.
I'm going back to bed and watching movies. On the movie sick list:
-Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassis
-Avatar: The Last Airbender (the show)
-Nightmare on Elm St (I've got all of thme...well, except the new one, of course).

Yeah there is alot of that going around. Soup and OJ are your friends. I end up spending my sick days playing RPG's since thats the only time I can dedicate to prolonged gaming sessions these days.

Last month I vomited for the first time in many years. We had eaten tacos for dinner that night and for some reason they really weren't sitting well with me. An hour or so after dinner I ended up blowing chunks. Bits of lettuce and ground beef came out my nose. It...wasn't pretty.
In addition to soup and OJ, drinking Sprite or 7-Up seems to help my stomach too.

i've never understood how drinking a *carbonated* drink would help *settle* one's stomach.
seems like some kind of non-caffeinated non-carbonated "lemonlime" type drink would be better

When I drink Sprite, I burp a lot and it makes my stomach feel better.

Yeah it is the carbonation that does it.

Bucket by the bed is your friend. And keeping yourself in fluids is generally a good idea, since you're losing a lot of it via the vomit. For me, Sprite works.

When I had food poisoning, my doctor suggested half water and half Gatorade (or other sports drink) to get the electrolytes back in your system.

I'm still on a vomit-free streak over 30 years long, and I've even had influenza and multiple bouts of food poisoning during that span.
I usually get volunteered to dispose of the older leftovers in the fridge, too.
It's a gift.

The last three times I've thrown up were on my brother's birthdays for the past three years.

And it was on purpose.

I ate a salad roll that was filled with rotten shrimp once.
