Like the mac version, but for Android.

AppBrain - Load apps to your phone right from your browser

Barcode Scanner - see a barcode, scan it and search it. See a QR code for another android app? scan it to start the download and install on your phone.

Not sure where to get those fancy barcodes at...

LauncherPro - Great launcher replacement. Adds a ton of flexibility, and a much better look.

Handcent SMS - Text message program. Much better looking than the default one.

Rainy Days - Put's weather radar on to google maps.

Ringdroid

cut any audio file to make ring tones and system tones.

Color Flashlight

I use this to get around the room at 5am while Calli is still sleeping and I'm getting ready for work. I've always used my phone for this purpose, but this app puts out a bit more light than the phone home page.

Astro file manager

Easily copy, view, delete and browse files on your SD card. Also backs up your apps to the sd card.

Kindle for Android

Mostly for downloading free books to read.

I also use a few personal apps like my bank's onilne banking app and my auto insurance company's app for paying my bill, that kind of thing. I used to use ADW.Launcher as my launcher replacement, but I recently went back to the default launcher when I moved to my custom build. i found I was only using one or two of ADW.Launcher's features and had disabled the rest.

BTW, you can get the little barcodes by searching for your favorite app here Cyrket

Tapatalk - a slick forum ui for your favorite message boards. Halforums supports it, I'm in fact using it right now.

Root explorer - you need root access for this, but it's the most robust file manager available. Supports zip extraction, and allows you to access all of your phone memory, required if you like to tinker.

Android wifi for root - this isn't on the market, you have to get it from google's code page directly. Just google it, you'll come right to it. Requires root again, but allows you to create an ad hoc wifi hotspot.

Dolphin browser - a good replacement for the stock browser. Comes in standard and "hd" versions, I prefer standard, as it seems to run faster.

Pandora - it's pandora. Nuff said.

NPR news - allows you to listen to npr news stories and popular programs.

Onion news network - watch onion videos.

Discovery channel - watch discovery channel videos.
