So, we got a firm release date set for Feb 2nd 2010

My laptop which runs WoW ok, won't play this game. I need a new pc, a desktop preferably.

The recommended specs are;

* OS: Windows XP SP2 / Windows Vista / Windows 7 (32 or 64-bit)
* CPU: Intel E8400 Core 2 Duo or AMD Athlon X2 5600+
* Memory: 2GB RAM+
* Video: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 / ATI Radeon HD 3850+
* Sound: DirectX 9.0c Compatible Soundcard
* DirectX: Version 9.0c or Higher
* HDD: 8GB Free Disk Space
* Network: Internet Broadband Connection Required
* Disc: 6X DVD-ROM

I'm looking for either a system + monitor combo or at least a monitor thats a decent size (20 inch give or take) to go with it for a decent price.

Budget $900-$1200

Help me Halforum-obi, you're my only hope!

If you're going with a Vista or 7 system then go with the ATI card. Nvidia's fucking drivers have been complete ass and you can get better performance for less money from an ATI card anyway. This has been my experience anyway.

I'm running 2 Nvidia 8800 GTX in my system and haven't had any problems with either performance or drivers on Win 7

Didn't you just get your computer?

You can usually get a gaming desktop for about half the cost of a gaming laptop, so your price range should net you something you want.

Pre built

If I had a choice, Win 7 over Vista

Never used an ATI card, always had Nvidia. Heard good things about their GTX line but I havent kept up with reviews on their stuff in the last three or four years.

Yea, I got my laptop back in June, but it was a stop gap measure, my old desktop was already dying (bad mobo, bad cmos, etc) so I got a $400 laptop to tide me over in the mean time (which wasn't bad cause I get a 7% discount from Dell).

A desktop is what I want, yes.
