I thought I would create a thread in this area just in case anyone was considering purchasing this or giving it any thought.

I used to have the old edition when it came out but traded it in along with another game to get inFamous instead.

It was a fun romp but I couldn't get past pulling down the star destroyer because my game was glitched. Was frustrating because I wanted to finish the game.

I know many of you guys as perhaps other gamers regard this as a rip off but I'm kinda thinking otherwise.

All I'm hoping for is that they've patched the game so there won't be obvious glaring problems like there was in the original release.

I'll have pictures of the box and such when I get my copy in the mail sometime this week. Supposedly its in a tin box.

Actually, the original Force Unleashed was one of the few games that I finished when I owned a PS3. You're right, the Star Destroyer pull down was definitley a royal load of ass, it took quite a few tries of doing exactly what it told to to actually get it done. If it wasn't glitched, it was certainly unnecessarily difficult. It's a shame you had to stop there, because I felt that the end of the game was where it really shined, tying the prequels and the original trilogy together, and showing just how much of a badass the apprentice was.

As for a $40 price tag, I think it's acceptable. Anyone who doesn't can feel free to buy the original used for $20, provided they find a gamestop selling it for $20, as I've found the prices fluctuate between $18-$28

All I knew was I was following what it was telling me to do with pulling the star destroyer down and it wasnt working grrr.

I think mine was glitched because I wanted to fight Darth Vader. Yeah I was being a bad ass and it was awesome.

Looking forward to converting Luke to the dark side of the force

Me too. When I heard the plot outline before I played, I thought they were going to lame up the apprentice with a sappy romance story and some gray area emo teen BS. When they were done, he was easily my favorite expanded universe character, and probably in the top 10 of star wars characters overall. I'd say top 5, but that one might be a bit too close to call.

I still don't regret my purchase of TF:U. The story alone is worth the price of admission. I plan on getting the DLC for this.

You can beat the Star Destroyer easily by ignoring the onscreen commands. If you centre the nose of the ship, so it's level and pointing towards 'you' (the player, not your character), then the trigger to "pull down" will flash on the screen (the only onscreen command you should listen to) and you can tear it down. It takes about 5-10 minutes, including fighting off TIE squadrons quickly.

If you follow the onscreen commands, which you appear to have done, you end up like me, playing that boss fight for an hour and half and making ZERO progress and wanting to punch someone.

So uh... If it is still glitched, that's how you get around it super quickly.

Hmm I'll try that but I remembered doing that on my old copy and was still stuck doing that lol.

BTW the new levels are cool but the fight with luke is pretty lowbrow. All you do is spam him with force lightening. Wouldn't recommend push.

I just replayed after getting hung up here and this is what I did once I got the ship to about the 3/4 point in dragging it down.

Glad I finished the game finally, and I hope they do more like this one. It's a fun romp (and nothing beats blowing a window open and getting a horde of troopers vacuum'd).
