Steam transfer question

So, i'm getting my new comp today. booyah etc etc.

I know that i can transfer steam quite easily by copying the steam folder in the new computer.

However, what i can't find with certainty is whether my saved games are in the steamapps folder or in /documents or something.

I don't wanna lose 2 runs of Da:O, countless games of DoW2, MW2, etc etc.

My google fu seems to have failed me on that particular point.

I think Valve stuff is in the Steam Apps folders, but non Valve stuff can sometimes be in the My documents. You'll have to check both I'm afraid.

it's going to be a pain in the ass since i'll go from XP to 7

And more places besides. You'll have to check on a game by game basis.

Keep in mind that games sometimes store saves in different locations on Win XP than they do on Win Vista/7.
